Aquarium is a graceful and luxurious house located metres from the beach in the Northern Rivers town of Pottsville, suitable for multiple families. A barefoot sandy path through some shrubs is the only thing separating the house from kilometres of white sand beach – leave the city behind and fall asleep listening to the sound of waves.
Designed by renowned Sydney architect Michael Suttor, this beautiful home was rebuilt from scratch and completed in 2024. It features elegant finishes with organic textures such as wood, limestone, linen, sisal and sandstone. Aquarium offers expansive open-plan living areas and spacious outdoor decks. The house has a visually spectacular glass sided pool with windows into the lower levels of the house allowing for underwater viewing of those swimming in the pool as well as a covered cabana with seating for hot days. A viewing platform with seating from the third floor looks out at the ocean – perfect for sunset drinks.
The house is situated in the town of Pottsville with great restaurants, nature reserves, a Sunday market and extreme natural beauty. Minute’s walk up the beach is the mouth of Mooball Creek, a coastal estuary with crystal blue waters and a sandy bank perfect for fishing and family swimming given the protection from beach waves and tides. Only 7km along the shoreline is the surfing mecca of Cabarita beach and it is an easy drive to Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Kingscliff and Burleigh Heads – close enough for lunch or dinner but far away enough to escape the crowds.
