Where history meets lakeside luxury over five bedrooms and fifteen acres. Sink into the hot tub and snuggle up around the outdoor fire pit with a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. All while the children run wild in the century-old orchards.

A modern masterpiece with a century of class. Originally built in 1906 ‘restored’ doesn’t come close to describing the lovingly crafted masterpiece the owners have achieved. Bespoke pieces from around the world complete the incredible interiors that allow families and friends the rare opportunity to spend quality time together, without treading on each others toes.

Sumptuous spaces and fabulous firesides:

As you approach the property via the private driveway lined with 100-year-old giant Sequoia trees you will know you are headed some place special. On entering the Homestead you will feel at home among the many living spaces and will find it difficult to choose which room to relax in. The main living area of the home features a very spacious kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge with a grand piano ideal for family gatherings and entertaining with friends. You will be warm and cosy through the winter months with numerous heating options including three indoor fireplaces. There is also a library at the front of the property which offers views across the manicured lawn and rose gardens towards Lake Hayes.

Bedrooms and bath tubs that you’ll want to sink into:

The property features five bedrooms with the master located in the original wing of the historic building. It will provide you with a contemporary and luxury experience with a private ensuite bathroom featuring a statement copper bathtub. Two further bedrooms with ensuites are located to the west of the property. One bedroom offers twin beds themed to entertain children with a secret door connecting you back to the main house. You will find the two remaining loft style bedrooms and shared bathroom in the second wing of the house with high pitched ceilings which provides a private space for further guests.

Things to get excited about:

The property has many exterior features offering a fantastic range of entertaining areas, including a life sized chess set, petanque court, outdoor swimming pool area with a floating fireplace and a gym overlooking the lake.

With direct access to the Lake Hayes walking track and an 100-year-old orchard on the grounds, you will enjoy the expansive and private grounds.

COVID Cancellation Policy:

• Domestic guests – if government-directed Alert Levels change preventing travel to Queenstown, booking dates can be changed (subject to availability), or alternatively any funds paid toward the booking will be held as a credit to be booked within 12 months and stay within 24 months of the original booking date. Booking rates vary between seasons, and any additional cost accrued due to this will be the guest’s responsibility. For bookings made through an external Online Travel Agent or Booking portal, the credit amount will be less the portal commission.

• International guests – if your party is unable to enter the country due to border closures, booking dates can be changed (subject to availability), or alternatively any funds paid toward the booking will be held as a credit to be booked within 12 months and stay within 24 months of the original booking date. Booking rates vary between seasons, and any additional cost accrued due to this will be the guest’s responsibility. For bookings made through an external Online Travel Agent or Booking portal, the credit amount will be less the portal commission.

RESERVATION & CANCELLATION POLICY

Minimum night stay: A minimum stay of five nights.

Booking confirmation: to secure a booking at The Homestead, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required. Payment is by credit card or bank transfer only and all charges must be covered by the guest.

Final payment: final payment is required 30 days prior to the reservation check in date. Payment is by credit card or bank transfer only and all charges must be covered by the guest.

Cancellation:

The following applies to the cancellation:

If a reservation is cancelled 30 or fewer days prior to the reservation check-in date, 100% of the total cost will be charged for every night cancelled;

If a reservation is cancelled between the date of booking confirmation and 31 days prior to the

reservation check-in date, the 30% non-refundable deposit shall be retained by us.

A reservation cannot be transferred to another guest or another period.

There is no refund if guests vacate the Property early.

COVID-19-related Terms: Should your place of residence, or Queenstown, be impacted by a Government enforced lockdown which restricts you from leaving your place of residence or coming to Queenstown, then you can request a credit for the fully paid value of your accommodation towards a future booking within 12 months, and if future dates are not available, a full refund of the accommodation value paid will be made.

This does not include flight cancellations due to other events such as weather, airline operational requirements or other guest or family health issues. We strongly recommend you take comprehensive travel insurance to protect your holiday investment.
